Music at St Cyprian's |
Primarily consisting of alumni choral scholars from British university chapel choirs, the St Cyprian's Singers were founded by Philip de Grouchy and Julian Collings in 2012 as the choir of St Cyprian's Church, Clarence Gate in London. Now one of the leading mixed voiced church choirs in the city, the main focus of the choir’s work is to provide music at the regular choral Mass on Sundays and at special services throughout the year.
The annual Nine Lessons & Carol service and St Cyprian's Day services are particular highlights, as is choral evensong, which is sung once a month on Saturdays at 3pm. The vast majority of music for these services is drawn from the Anglican cathedral tradition - please click here to view the latest music list. |
Since its inception, the choir has developed a busy schedule of external engagements and is regularly invited to perform as part of festivals and concert series throughout the UK and overseas. Recent appearances have included the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music, the Brandenburg Choral Festival, and the City of London Festival, as well as tours to Seville (2014) and New York City (2015). |
